Capture Names - They Are Like GOLD Nuggets!!

Monday, March 31st, 2008

A landing page is used to capture people’s details when they come to your website.

It helps to sort out the serious lookers from the curious!

If people come to your website and they aren’t really that interested in what you have to offer, then they probably won’t give you their details to have a look at the inside.

The first thing to look at then is your online advertising.

Are you using relative keywords to get people to your website?

Or are the keywords you’re using too broad and people are not really interested enough to give you details to enter your website?

I regularly use secondary keywords or phrases that are more targeted towards the market you’re trying to attract.

For example; If I was advertising on the Internet for holiday accommodation on the Gold Coast and I was situated in Broadbeach, then the keywords to use might be “Holiday Accommodation Broadbeach”.

If I had used “Gold Coast Holiday Accommodation” then I could attract people who might want to stay at Coolangatta, in which case they aren’t interested because it’s half an hour away.

Learn to find and use relevant targeted key words, and key phrases, that attract more qualified prospects who want what you have.

Promote Yourself and your Services Shamelessly!

Don’t be afraid to let people know who you really are. We all know by now that people buy from people they know, like and trust, so why wouldn’t you want people to know who you are.

The Internet can be a bit bland so why not spice it up with a bit of your own personality.

On our landing page we have added a picture of ourselves so that potential customers can see that we are real people.

We also included an audio section that allows people to hear our voices to gain a bit more of a connection. Not only that, in the audio I clearly direct people to do what I want them to do, which is enter their details.

It’s amazing what people will do when they are told to do something!

Athletics and Winning

Sunday, March 30th, 2008

Athletics are pretty cut and dry in one regard; the goal to win. Having been in competitive athletics in a prior life I can certainly attest to that. Often however I see something that does not make a lot of sense, the need for society to treat everyone equal and to somehow over do or condemn the competitive aspect. For instance; I question an article I read in Sports Illustrated Women in February of this year about the “Agony of Defeat”. The article discussed public humiliation, financial disappointment, and long-term psychological trauma? That is utter bull.

First if you are really in it to win it and for the challenge and the game itself, then money is not important. If you lose and you are humiliated maybe you should have tried harder and trained more. If you have long-term psychological trauma then you are not tough enough to be the gold medallist anyway. True winners are also previous true losers. The example used was a woman who broke a world record in the Olympics but received a silver medal instead of a gold. She then became suicidal and battled anorexia.

Look here it is, there is only one gold winner and that is what draws the toughest and best competitors in the world. If you cannot hack it, you should not be there. Part of being a top athlete is mental toughness, through and through. Vince Lombarde said that the toughest games draw out the toughest competitors. It is the same in war, politics, sports or business. Get use to it.

It was a touching article, but I believe that it missed the point. A silver medal in the Olympics is not a gold one, but if you are that good and you did not win, blame yourself, get over it and win it next time. You have to be mentally tough or do not compete. That is not a hard liner talking, it is the reality of the game. If you can’ handle it don’t play. Not everyone should be in the game. Think about it.

Give A Gift Basket For Memorable Gift

Saturday, March 29th, 2008

What is a quick and easy gift I can give, but still show someone I was thinking about them? As we get older, go through jobs, and make more friends during each year we find ourselves giving out more and more gifts. I know I want my gifts to be cost effective because of the number I give out, but at the same time I want them to mean something to each person specifically. As I looked into it I found that one of the best choices one can make in choosing a gift is simply a custom gift basket. A gift basket can be as expensive or as cheap as you like and be easily personalized to the recipient.

When you are giving out a lot of gifts during the holidays, you don’t want to break the bank. The nice thing about giving out gift baskets is that they can be as expensive or inexpensive as you like. To make them cheaper, you can certainly build them yourself. Just pick up a few theme presents, a basket or other holiday container, and some decorations and you have what you need. However, if you don’t consider yourself to be the creative type, you can hire a gift basket company to put them together for you. Even by using a service, you will still save money by giving out gift baskets.

Aside from the money savings you get, a gift basket makes a good gift because it can so easily be customized to suit the recipient. Gift baskets are generally an assortment of smaller gifts arranged in a basket. You can make the theme something that fits the recipient. For instance, if you are giving it to a coffee drinker, you can give an assortment of coffees, mugs, and flavorings. If you are giving a basket to a sports lover, you can put trading cards, golf balls, and a video or two in a basket. The other way to personalize the gift basket it to have it fitted with a plate engraved with the recipient’s name. It is a fairly inexpensive thing to have done, but says a lot in terms of the though behind the gift. Personalization and the thought put into a gift are what make gifts memorable. Many people will remember the thought long after the gift itself is gone, so keep that in mind when putting together your gift baskets.

Trying to figure out what to get a large group of people can be a real challenge during the holiday season. You want each of your friends to know you though of them, but you don’t want to spend a ton of money that you just don’t have. A great way to do that can be through giving creative and customized gift baskets. They can be as expensive or inexpensive as you want or need them to be. In addition, no matter what amount you spend, you can make the gift basket specific to the recipient so that you will be expressing to each individual that you did think about them.

Gold Coins

Friday, March 28th, 2008

For thousands of years, gold coins have been used as currency in many cultures. It is believed that the first gold coins used as currency were produced somewhere between 560 and 547 B.C. by King Croesus of Lydia. Ever since then, gold coins have been used by countless other civilizations as a form of currency. Gold coins today are used by some people as a form of investment.

Many investors believe that investing in gold coins is safer than other forms of currency is because of its security. The currency of any country has the risk of devaluation and inflation. Gold is independent from political or economic variables that are associated with other forms of currency. Gold has also been historically seen as a precious and valuable commodity. Years of historical record have proven that gold is reliable in keeping its value. In fact, it has shown that it has the tendency to increase in value.

It is believed by some investors that they best way to protect their portfolio during the troubled times that we live in is to invest in gold. With fears of another terrorist attack, there is also fear of a crash in the stock market, as well as a prospect of a recession. Their fears of economic instability can be put at ease by the stability gold coins offer.

Gold is not confined to any particular country. It is traded globally, and it is easily liquidated at any time. The demand for gold is constantly on the rise, causing the price to rise along with it.

Despite the conservative and secure nature of investing in gold coins you must be careful where you buy them. You must make sure you buy from a reputable and licensed gold dealer. There are plenty of places that will sell you low quality merchandise, and they can cheat you out of your money.

Everquest 2 Gold - A Virtual World with a Real-World Economy

Thursday, March 27th, 2008

If there’s a demand for something, the market will respond. For proof, you need look no further than EverQuest 2 gold. Although EverQuest 2 gold has no existence in the real world and probably never will, for more than a year hordes of people have been buying it like it’s going out of style.

How’s that work again?

Back in 2001, a gamer named Edward Castronova noticed a curious thing: that the economy of his favorite game, the MMORPG called EverQuest, was doing better than the economies of a lot of real-world countries. Since Castronova was also a professional economist, he did a few calculations and came to the startling conclusion that people in Norrath, the EverQuest gameworld, have a better per-capita income than real-world Bulgarians. In fact, Norrath ranks as the 77th richest nation in the world — or would if it were real. Real or not, EverQuest’s platinum had become a valuable commodity on the Internet; and EverQuest 2 gold, the currency of the EverQuest sequel launched in late 2004, has become more valuable still.

The scramble for EverQuest 2 gold

It may seem like a fantasy (and a decade ago it would have been), but the rise of the Internet has made even virtual cash like EverQuest 2 gold worth trading. Internet commerce has become so simple that it’s a snap to purchase EverQuest 2 gold online. Whereas EQ platinum goes for a mere $0.54 per thousand, you’ll have to pay an average of $0.17 per EverQuest 2 gold — and it takes 100 EverQuest 2 gold to make a platinum. Not too shabby, that. Of course the value of EverQuest 2 gold varies from day to day and from site to site.

Wednesday, March 26th, 2008

The Pulaski Visa Gold is issues by Pulaski Bank and is designed for people with good credit that want a credit card with low costs. There are several benefits to this card but the best feature is probably the low interest rate which is fixed at 9.5% for all transactions. If you expect or plan to have a revolving balance on the card, the Pulaski Visa Gold is perfect for you. It is also rare to find a card that has the same rate for both purchases and cash advances.

The card also has no annual fees and comes with common gold card benefits such as travel services and emergency assistance services. There are also several purchase protection services. There is no rewards program with this card. However, there are several perks that make up for this.

The Pulaski Visa Gold has various Internet account related services. It also offers auto rental insurance, various travel and emergency assistance services, emergency cash replacement, emergency card replacement, lost and stolen card reporting and no liability for unauthorized transactions. The introductory rate (0%) is available for balance transfers made within the first three months of having your card.

The minimum credit limit of the Pulaski Visa Gold is $1,000 and the maximum is $10,000. There is no annual fee and no fee for additional cardholders. Six Bridesmaid Gift Basket Ideas to Make Yourself

Monday, March 24th, 2008

Creating individual bridesmaid gift baskets is a surefire way to make sure each bridesmaid receives a very personalized gift. Each basket can be different depending on their interests, but stay within the same budget for each one. The art of making a great gift basket is to include items that stay within a theme.

Here are six bridesmaid gift basket themes that you can easily put together
yourself:

  • Ahh the Spa Bridesmaid Gift Basket — For the pampered friend,
include scented soaps, lotions, candles, facial masks, foot scrub, massage oil and
maybe even slippers or a bathrobe.
  • Food & Wine Bridesmaid Gift Basket — For the gourmand friend,
choose red or white wines, imported cheeses, crackers, cheese knife, wine charms
    and a wine bottle opener.
  • Dinner & Movie Bridesmaid Gift Basket — For the homebody friend,
include a DVD (comedy, drama, etc., you know what she’d like), microwave popcorn,
a bottle of soda and an assortment of candy.
  • Sweet Snacks Bridesmaid Gift Basket — For the sweet tooth, include
hard candy, a box of chocolates, gum, mints, homemade cookies and a silly mug
    with hot cocoa mix.
  • Party Girl Bridesmaid Gift Basket — For the wild child, include bottles
of hard liquor, plumping lip gloss, thong underwear, aspirin (for the next day
    hangover) and some condoms.
  • The Hobbyist Bridesmaid Gift Basket — This one is perfect if your
bridesmaid has a hobby, just work within the theme of her hobby. For the gardener,
include seeds, garden tools and a decorative ceramic pot. For the artist, include a
sketchbook, colored pencils or pastels and an art book for inspiration. For the chef,
include a cookbook, a spatula and some assorted spices.

To assemble the baskets, you simply place the items in baskets with some colorful
tissue paper or shredded paper and add a gift tag or card. The entire basket can be
wrapped up in cellophane or left plain with a few ribbons tied to the handle.

You don’t need to use the same exact basket container for each bridesmaid. If you
are on a tight budget, look for baskets at thrift stores and mix and match. If you
time it just right, baskets can be purchased on clearance after Easter. Other
containers such as colorful gift bags, small bathroom garbage cans, decorative
boxes, tins and tote bags will all work nicely to hold your gift items.

Have fun coming up with bridesmaid gift basket themes!

Coin Dealers

Sunday, March 23rd, 2008

Contrary to popular belief, those who collect coins or deals with coins are not exactly rich. They have an interesting hobby and don’t necessarily want to pay a large amount of money for coins. Coin dealers strike a balance between satisfying their customers and making a profit.

The coins’ condition and state of preservation is of utmost importance to both coin dealers and collectors. The collectors prefer coins in mint condition rather than worn- out. The dealers, on the other hand, have to make sure that the coins they have in their possession match these standards.

It is obvious that an old coin cannot be expected to be in mint condition. Mint condition coins are very and command higher prices. Ancient Roman and Greek coins that exist in mint state often have reasonable prices.

Historically, the earliest coins were believed to have originated from either the Greek city-states of Asia Minor or the Lydian kingdom. The latter is not considered mutually exclusive from the Greek since the Lydian culture during that time was partly Hellenized. Lydia had been influenced by Greek styles both in art and architecture. So much so that a Greek agora was found in the capital city of Sardis.

Several indications point to Lydia as having a direct hand in the origin of coins in the Mediterranean world. First, the material of the earliest known coin can be traced back to the Lydians. Also, electrum issued from Cyzikus, Phokaea and Mytilene were composed of an artificially controlled ratio of gold to silver. Thus, the peculiarity of the use of electrum for the first coins might be attributed to its natural occurrence in Lydia.

What are Gold Credit Cards

Saturday, March 22nd, 2008

Gold credit cards are special privilege cards that are traditionally offered by credit card companies either to high earners or to their loyal customers who have a good credit history. Traditionally they are considered to be status symbol because they are associated with high annual income, which offer added services and benefits.

Gold credit cards are beneficial if you are a high spender seeking associated benefits such as free air miles, cash back, reward points etc. These credit cards give you the added advantage of high or no credit limit. Though generally the credit limit is quite high still it depends on your annual income and your credit rating. Companies will certainly not offer a gold card to people with a bad credit history or to those who have low income.

The credit card companies will generally offer a better service and many more benefits to these privileged customers. Additionally, they have lower interest rates as compared to that of standard credit cards. Generally, there are low or no annual fees on Gold credit cards. View your statements, pay your card balance and transfer balances. There is an online fraud guarantee, so you’re not responsible for any unauthorized purchases.
