It Really is only ‘early Days’ in the Internet Gold Rush….

Friday, February 29th, 2008

One of the questions that I am getting more and more used to hearing lately is:

‘Is it too late for me to start an online business? Have I missed the boat and have all of the best opportunities been and gone?’

My reply is always along the lines of, ‘Absolutely not - there is still a wealth of opportunity online and even if you start your online business tomorrow, you are still well ahead of the majority of people’.

I genuinely believe that this is the case but I know that many people do feel that they may have missed the boat and that there is nothing more that can be done online that isn’t already being done by someone else. If you are one of those people, read on….

I attended a corporate function last week - non Internet related - and had the chance to talk with a large number of UK business men and women. These people ranged from people running their own ‘one man bandtype business right up to the owners of large-scale operations employing hundreds of staff and turning over millions of pounds each year. Several of the attendees were entrepreneurs that had built up and sold companies worth, quite literally, tens of millions. Overall, a very wide spread of experience, success and ability but the one thing that tied everyone together was that they were all running a business of one kind or another.

Now, as you would expect, when meeting with new people for the first time (and particularly in a situation such as the one above), one of the main topics of conversation was what everyone did for a living. As I have indicated in previous newsletters, this is a question that I really dislike being asked as I find it so hard to explain.

Needless to say though, I found myself having to do exactly that to numerous people, all of whom looked at me with a blank expression as I tried to tell them, in simple terms, how I generate an income from nothing more than a PC and the Internet.

This is nothing new and I am well used to it by now (in fact I am beginning to think that it would be easier just to say I work in finance as I once did!) but what amazed me most was that not one of the people I spoke to had any clue about what I was talking about.

Despite being among a group of what I would consider to be a fair representation of the UK business community, not one of them had any real idea about how to use the Internet to increase their business.

Of course, many of the people I spoke to had websites but ALL of them told me that the only real purpose their website served was to provide a small amount of information about their business and their contact details!

None of them allowed customers to order from their website (although most of the businesses in question would suit this method of sales)….

None of them were collecting email addresses from visitors with the aim of carrying out follow-up marketing (although this would be appropriate for all of the businesses in question)….

None of the businesses were using email in any way as a form of marketing, despite the obvious cost advantages over the postal service…

I could go on but I think you get the point.

On the flipside, every single one of the people that I spoke to had used the Internet to purchase goods! I find this absolutely amazing.

Now of course, the people that I spoke to are in a slightly different situation to many online entrepreneurs in that they already run successful offline businesses. However, if this is a fair representation of how entrepreneurs view the Internet in terms of a business tool, it stands to reason that the ‘ordinary man in the street’ will be even less likely to see the Internet as something that he can use to earn a full or part time income.

The entrepreneurs I spoke to were genuinely surprised that it was possible to earn a full time income online, they were even more surprised when I gave them an indication of how much it is possible to earn. I am sure that a couple of them almost fell over when I then told them that the day to day maintenance of many online businesses takes just an hour or so per day since software can be used to handle so much of the workload!

I therefore reiterate the point that I made at the start of this newsletter - the Internet Gold rush is surely only just beginning and the very fact that you are reading this article puts you way ahead of the vast majority of the rest of the World. Don’t sit there wondering whether it is too late - get started on your online business today.

And if you were one of the entrepreneurs that I spoke to last week (you know who you are and I know that several of you have already subscribed to this newsletter!), welcome and enjoy - you too are now one step ahead of your competition :-)

The Lowdown on American Express Gold Card

Thursday, February 28th, 2008

Spending with an American Express card has never been more convenient. With an American Express Gold Card however, the company seeks to provide even greater standards of convenience to their customers.

First of all, the American Express Gold Card does not have a pre-determined spending limit. This means that customers can spend to their heart’s delight as long as they do not leave outstanding balances at the end of the month.

Apart from that, the card also comes with two reward programs, one of which requires membership to enjoy redeemable rewards from collected points. Points can be collected by purchasing gas, shopping at supermarkets and pharmacies, sending mail or even paying phone bills. The points can then be used to redeem rewards in travel, shopping or entertainment. Some of the participating partners of American Express include Dell Computers, GAP and The Sharper Image. Furthermore, shopping online with the American Express Gold Card also entitles customers to free shipping for purchases, in addition to the benefit that customers are not accountable for unauthorized online purchases.

The second reward program is the frequent traveler program that allows customers to earn free flights from 6 participating airlines. There are no limitations as to the number of points that can be redeemed for any period of time as these points never expire. Apart from that, when customers purchase tickets with the American Express Gold Card, they are entitled to travel accident insurance as well as the option of using travelers’ checks overseas.

Additionally, the Global Assist Plus Hotline included provide travelers with help of any kind including roadside assistance, cash access, legal and medical referrals as well as help with their visas or passports even when they are in other countries. In the event of baggage loss in airports, American Express provides a coverage value of up to $1250 for hand-carried baggage and $500 for checked-in baggage. This card covers any possible travel-related services currently available, which is why frequent travelers should start charging anything and everything to their very own American Express Gold Card.

Coin Collector or Coin Dealer Look No Further Than Here!

Wednesday, February 27th, 2008

Your grandpa has saved a vintage rookie card of a legendary baseball star. Your mother has collected all of the Beatles records and your aunt has collected stamps from every country she’s ever visited. Can you recall that ideal collectible you use to treasure as a child? Remember the Beanie Babies, the Cabbage Patch Kids, or the G.I. Joe figures? Those collectibles may today, stand as a childhood keepsake and something that you’ll treasure for the rest of your life.

Along with these childhood collectibles, comes a timeless collectible that is treasured by all ages-the coin. Whether the coins come from our homeland or foreign countries, are old or are new, the varieties of coin collections seem to be as endless as the amount of coins that are being circulated. On a more realistic note, just consider how diverse a coin collector could specialize in.

Foreign coins: For the frequent traveler, collecting foreign coins will be easy for this type of collector. For those who don’t get the chance to travel much, foreign coins can still be obtained by visiting a coin auction or through networking with fellow coin collectors. For the foreign coin collector, one obvious reason behind the intrigue of collecting these types of coins will certainly not be for its monetary value. For instance, a coin from Canada or England would not be valued in the U.S., and vice versa. It’s true value lies in it’s rarity in any other country other than it’s own In addition to adding on to a collection of foreign coins, bringing home a foreign coin also bring back a memory or two about that relaxing vacation you took out of the country.

Coins by year: Have you ever come across a penny from 1969 and noticed how old and rather dull it appears, in contrast to a brand new penny that’s shiny and smooth? Collectors of these types of coins take fascination to collecting coins by year, often observing the physical survival and changes a coin has evolved into. A clear example comes with the wheat penny, a type of coin made from 1909-1958. Before our current penny that features the Lincoln Memorial, the wheat penny design is instead, distinguished with two ears of corn, surrounding ‘ONE CENT’ in big bold print. Phased out over time, the rare wheat pennies have not been made for almost 50 years. For that, the wheat penny stands as a valuable collectible to coin collectors.

Commemorative Coins: Starting in 1999, five American quarters per year have circulated, dedicated to one of the 50 states in the nation. Coins that marked a significant period in time or are dedicated to a specified state, these types prove to be very popular among coin collectors. More recently, the American nickel surfaced with a celebration designed to honor the 200th anniversaries of the Louisiana Purchase. Also, in December 2005, the United States Mint introduced a new line of 24-karat gold coins. Known as the American Buffalo Gold Coin, this collector’s item is dedicated to the nation’s rich Native American history. The design of this commemorative gold coin is modeled much like the American penny and quarters. Yet this gold coin depicts a Native American man’s profile, and a bison featured on the coin’s reverse side.

Whether it is the famous American Buffalo coin you are searching for, a certain type of rare gold coin you’ve always wanted, or simply that classic wheat penny from decades ago, coin collections will always remain a favorite and popular type of collection among the various things that people value.

The Lowdown on the Aspire Gold Visa Card

Tuesday, February 26th, 2008

The Aspire Gold Visa Card issued by Columbus Bank and Trust is specifically designed for individuals with a poor or limited credit history, and who only need the basic functions of a credit card.

Due to the nature of this card, interest rates imposed for outstanding balances are high, with the minimum variable rates. This simply means that no matter how low the Prime Rate may get, interest rates imposed will not drop below this minimum. On top of that, the rates are tagged to the highest Prime Rate within a 90-day period making low APRs a distant fantasy.

As though these nerve-racking rates are not enough to scare intelligent folks away, the Aspire Gold Visa Card charges various fees that Regular Joes would not call “loose change.” The minute your application is approved, a $150 annual fee for new accounts are imposed followed by a $29 account opening fee as well as a monthly maintenance fee of $78 per annum. All this adds up to $257 just within the first year, excluding any penalty or default fees should you be daft enough to use this card and not the outstanding balances off without fail.

On the other hand, there must be something valuable that this card has to offer in exchange for the steep fees. Well, some of the card’s “additional perks” include various Internet account related activities, auto rental insurance, various travel and emergency related service, all of which are quite run-of-the-mill.

In summary, this card may not be suitable for everyone. In fact, the target market for the Aspire Gold Visa Card should be people who require just the basic credit card benefits, and who don’t mind forking out $257 for it.

Users who plan to pay the minimum on their credit card charges should look elsewhere, or they will end up paying for sky-high interests. Thus, the Aspire Gold Visa would not be suited for users who miss their monthly credit card payments time and again.

For more information or to apply for the Aspire Gold Visa Card, Eric Wasselman recommends Find Credit Cards.

Three Search Engine Ranking Gold Tips

Monday, February 25th, 2008

Getting a high ranking in the search engines is something
with many variables.

It can rely on what industry you’re in, the products or
services you supply, and the competition you have.
There is however a few basic things you can do to help
this process.

1. Choose The Right Domain Name!

A good example of this is my domain name. At first glance it seems long and drawn out but I chose it to include the keywords I wanted in it. Its getting harder to find available domain names with good keywords.
If you want to look for good available domain names
you can go to www.deleteddomains.com

2. Selecting a Keyword or Phrase!

There are so many keywords or phrases you could use
for your website so its important to find one you believe
will help your cause and focus on it.
Use this chosen keyword in all of your web text copy,
your description and your meta tags in the script.
This techy stuff can be done by your web designer.

3. Website Title and Description!

This is where you submit your info to the search
engines and they can put your website into the
appropriate category. This is important as it helps to
make sure your site is recognized for the right area
by both the potential customers and the search engines.
If you’re not sure what keywords are right for you then
go to www.goodkeywords.com and download a fr~e
keyword tool to help you identify and find a good one.

This is the basics but often success comes from many
small gems that help you overall. Getting to the top of
the search engines is always an ongoing battle but
don’t forget you can fast track it by using pay per click
advertising and get as high as your budget will allow.

Where’s Me Pot of Gold and Lucky Charms

Sunday, February 24th, 2008

We already know this from our history books. If you want to make money today, you must first look back in time to the first time in history that a large portion of our country all tried to get rich at the same time in the same place. The first discovery of gold was at Sutter’s Mill by James W. Marshall in 1948, Mr. Sutter’s mill contractor and builder. This discovery sprang thousands upon thousands of ambitious individuals to get rich which we refer to as the “Gold Rush.”

As you can imagine, these people were not that much different from the thousands of new entrepreneurs trying to get rich on the Internet. But out of all those thousands of people seeking their fortunes, only about 4% to 6% of them even found enough gold to feed themselves. And history books tell us that less than 1% ever became wealthy. This is so similar to the Internet of today that the two are worth comparing.

BUT Wait! A completely different group of people became extremely wealthy in those exact same gold fields…

Who were these people who managed to get rich during those hard times?

They were the people who opened little stores not far from where all the people were digging and panning for gold! These people were the smartest group because they chose to sell the tools that they knew all those gold diggers were going to need. This special group of individuals some how knew that it was a waste of time to dig and pan for gold. This amazing group of people wanted something with better odds. They wanted a sure thing!

They knew that the miners couldn’t mine unless they had clothing, tools, and food. So these genius store owners made their fortunes selling the shovels, jackets, pants, wheel barrows, picks, pans, beer, food, hats, medicine and etc. So it didn’t matter to them if a miner found gold and got rich or whether that miner couldn’t find an ounce of gold. It just didn’t matter to the men and women who owned the stores because no matter what, all those people in search of gold still needed massive amounts of supplies to live and more tools to keep trying. The shopkeepers were always there to sell all these supplies!

Whether gold was found or not, during any given day, the shop keepers made the same consistent amount of solid income!

Below you’re about to find out why all this is relevant to you and your Internet income.

You now know that history has proven that if you do exactly what the masses of people are doing to get rich, you’ll most likely fail. And you now know that if you provide products or services to that large group of people that are all trying to get rich, you’ll most likely become wealthy. It’s simple! Turn those gold diggers into your customers!

Just for a moment, separate yourself from the rest of them - sit back and relax. While sitting there, watch what they are doing; pay attention to what they are looking for and what they are using to get it. Once you have figured these things out you will know what to do to turn them into your customers.

But in case you don’t, here’s the simple answer to how you’re about to turn all of today’s Internet gold diggers into your own customers. First of all, you must ask yourself this question: “What is the single most important thing to all of today’s Internet gold diggers? What do they crave and desire the most?”

The answer is “Traffic.” In case you’re new to the Internet, the word “Traffic,” of course, means visitors to your web site. It doesn’t take Internet marketers long to figure out that even though they have a professional web site up, not a single person is ever going to visit that web site unless it gets advertised. You have to know where to get traffic and generate MORE traffic.

With all that in mind, I’m about to discuss a very important subject and it may be very controversial to some, and even cause me to lose a few customers but I MUST make my point.

You hear this from people around you, your teachers, your advisors, even television, “knowledge is power.” Do you agree?

Please explain.

I’ve asked a few people this same question and some have explained, “Well, yeah, without knowledge you have no authority.”

“Well, it’s obvious, without knowledge you have no power.”

“Knowledge is what gets the job done in your everyday task.”

While these are good explanations, I disagree. You’re baffled. Totally understandable because I’m probably the only person on Earth standing up to this worldwide, coined phrase. So I better begin explaining myself before I start receiving hate mails. Allow me to explain by using an example.

Electricity.

Can you agree electricity is power? It has the power to turn your lights on, it’s what plays your radio, and it’s what starts up your car. Or does it? Electricity doesn’t just magically turn your light on, automatically play your radio nor does it mysteriously start your engine. No. The electricity HAS TO BE APPLIED.

Like electricity, knowledge doesn’t magically write your sales letter, knowledge doesn’t automatically file your folders and knowledge doesn’t mysteriously tune up your car. It has to be “APPLIED.”

“Where are you going with this,” you might ask.

Simply this, “knowledge” is only POTENTIAL POWER. All the knowledge that you hold within you is nothing unless you put it to use. That’s it. If after reading this article and you decide to do nothing then you will have wasted your time and effort. Unless you apply what I’ve taught you, you will have thrown away your money. You can learn from my 4 years of experience or you can ignore it, the choice is yours.

I’m not here to change your mind about anything, I’m just pointing out important aspects to consider and I can only hope it has opened your mind and drive you to take action.

The World of Warcraft In-Game Economy Comes Real

Thursday, February 21st, 2008

It may sound incredible that video games can establish an effective economy, with its own currency and value. This is what it’s happening with World of Warcraft. This is a so called MMORPG, Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game.

It is a virtual world in which various characters interact each other, everyone representing a player. In order to buy items, services and various goods the player needs virtual gold, that is the currency of the WoW world.

The World of Warcraft phenomenon might be affecting people in a more subtle way than we think. Yes, there have been some cases of dearth (allegedly) caused by over-exposure to WoW, but what’s even more disturbing is that people are beginning to spend important amounts of money for this game.

Actually, the main source to earn gold is undertaking quests and interacting with the other characters (human and non human). Anyway, on the Internet there are many sellers of WoW gold, willing to give a player the desired amount in exchange of real money. For instance, there are online auctions or websites devoted to gold trading such as http://www.igxp.com

Real WoW addicts love those kind of transactions, because they want to improve their character, equipping it with new weapons, buying skills and more.

However, now there is an alternative way to obtain World of Warcraft Gold, that doesn’t require any form of payment. And in order to find out what this alternative offers, go to http://www.gold-world-of-warcraft.com

You’re sure to make some money by following the advice from the website.

How To Farm Gold In WOW

Wednesday, February 20th, 2008

Most people are asking how to farm gold in WoW. This should help you out. I will include a list on of some of the ways of farming for Warcraft gold. It is EASY! In the south, middle edge of The Badlands zone, nestled in the small valley, you can farm normal rock elements. These people seem to drop a lot of grey loot which vendors for 50 silver to 1.5 WoW gold, and they drop it at every kill. What they also drop is Elemental Earth which sells at the auction house for 1-3 WoW gold a piece. The average drop is 1 out of 17. Another way of how to farm gold in WoW, is to farm elemental slaves on the west side of Alterac mountains, for the chance to get elemental earths (1 out 15 kills). This goes for about 1-3 WoW gold a piece on AH.

You can also use elemental exiles on the southwest area of Arathi Highlands for elemental earths, which is also the same 1-3 WoW gold per earth on AH. How to farm gold in WoW is to farm in Arathi Highlands for 30 npcs of 2-6 silver each on 3-5 minute spawn timers. Times are not often camped. You could easily generate 1-5 WoW gold - even more if you are an AOE class. You can also farm in Arathi Highlands, as the alliance only, for 30-40 npcs of 2-6 silver each on 3-5 minute spawn timers. These timers are also not often camped. You could easily generate 1-5 WoW gold an hour. How to farm gold WoW? You can enter the secret scarlet monastery graveyard, in tristfall glades northwest corner of the map. This will get you a good 2 silver to 6 silver kill. Nevertheless, an AOE class can easily farm and reset the instance for outstanding 30-60 WoW gold in an hour.

Another way of how to farm gold in WoW, is to farm Warpwoods and Deadwoods for about 2-10 silver, rare herb drops. These sell around 1-5 WoW gold each. Living Essence sells for 1-1.5 WoW gold each at the Auction House. On the north side of Felwood zone near the alliance flight parth person, Warpwoods are located. The Deadwoods can be located just southwest of where the Warpwoods are. An easy 40-80 WoW gold an hour depending on AH prices. If you know how to farm gold in WoW and if you have faster dps class, then you can easily double your WoW gold per hour. Twilight hammer elites in Searing Gorge, is another way to farm. These elites are located west of the alliance/horde flight points. This is an easy 3-5 mageweave cloth per drop, and somewhere around 2silver to16silver per kill, with 9/10 silver, being the most common drop. You can undoubtedly make 10 WoW gold per hour off coin drops and around 5-20 WoW gold p/hour for the green and mageweave drops.

There are many more ways of how to farm gold in WoW. Farm the stockades in Stormwind City for easy greens and wool. It’s the best dungeon/instance to farm wool cloth because every other kill is worth 3-5 pieces of wool and there are about 100 NPCs in the instance. Don’t be alarmed when I tell you that a stack of wool can go from 77silver to 2 WoW gold at the AH. Try farming the scarlet monastery chests and locked chests for large knapsacks. These sell for 1.25-2 WoW gold. Occasionally, you will get a Blue item instead of Knapsacks. You usually get them once every 11th locked chest. Also, focus on the graveyard library and armory. NOT THE CATHEDRAL! Then you could easily get about 8 locked chests an hour and 10 regular ones. For this you’d need a rouge to lock pick or use blacksmithing and use Golden Skeleton Keys. This will require a 150 blacksmith skill.
